  • Arizona State Legislators 2011

On April 20, 2011 the Arizona State Legislature called sine die. During this year's Legislative Session arts, culture and arts education faced some significant challenges, as much of the Legislatures time was spent on the State Budget. In the 2011 session the State Legislature passed a budget that zeroed out the general appropriations for the Arizona Commission on the Arts, but preserved the Arts Trust Fund. The funds from the Arts Trust Fund will be used for the matching grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.

While the Legislature is out of session and the State Legislators are at home in their districts full time, it is our job as arts, culture and arts education advocates to meet with, call and invtie elected officials out to arts, culture and arts education events.
